It’s to die for. Honestly the best seafood risotto I have ever eaten!
I made slight changes to the JamieO recipe, but it’s generally the same. My ingredients were; mussels, gurnard, shrimp, celery, spring onion, onion and mushrooms. I also used dill instead of fennel, and white wine instead of vermouth.
Original recipe by JamieO.

Absolutely perfect for a Sunday night meal.
Crumbed sausages with an onion and rosemary infused gravy, mashed potatoes* with a hint of parsley and a couple of spoonfuls of steamed peas.
I decided I wanted more than just bangers and mash. So made them slightly fancier with my mash containing sour cream and parsley and also by creating a fully flavour packed gravy. Onions, rosemary, beef stock, Worcestershire sauce and wholegrain mustard. Delish, try it out!
*TIP for amazing, cloud-like mashed potatoes – once they have been boiled leave them to sit in the hot water while you prepare other parts to the meal, makes all the difference!

…than a cheese scone fresh from the oven, smothered in butter.
I know. I have been completely slack with starting this blog off. I’m feeling far more creative and lively these days so will be kicking this off any day soon. Watch this space.
*NB this is not a Jamie O recipe, this is one of my Mum’s.

I used Jamie’s recipe for sweet short crust pastry to make my Christmas mince pies. I changed these up from traditional mince though by making my own recipe of pear and ginger. They were delicious and very popular! I made 90 and there are only about 20 left…

Welcome! You have stumbled upon the Bronnie cooks Jamie Oliver food blog, inspired by Julie & Julia.
I plan to cook all 104 recipes in Jamie Oliver’s cookbook, Jamie’s Kitchen, by 31st January 2011. This is just over a year, as I will be in southeast Asia for six weeks.
There will be cooking, stories and photos relating to all the recipes.
Please note that unfortunately I do not know Jamie Oliver and am in no way associated with him. I’m just a keen fan and cook! You can check out his official website here.
So pour yourself a glass of wine, get your taste buds working and as a warning don’t read these recipes on an empty stomach!
